Bulawayo native, rapper Awa Khiwe, recently released her latest single "Rap Gandaganda," a collaboration with Ghanaian Stallion. The hip hop track speaks to powerful self-empowerment and it is propelled by the blending of the distinctive clicks of the Ndebele language with English rap. The result is a culturally rich combination, anchored by Awa's lyricism and elevated by Ghanaian Stallion's production.
This is the third single the two have released together, with their previous works "Ngeke Bengimele" and "Babakazi" having been equally as good.
"Rap Gandaganda" was also released with crisp visuals directed by Black Ink Creates & Pixel visuals. The video not only has a rich palate of colour, but rich storytelling as it exhibits the culture of the Nkayi community and Awa Khiwe's heritage. It begins with the narration of the story of a queen and her community, which perfectly sets up "Rap Gandaganda."
