Uncle Waffles set to headline the 263 Culture Festival 2024

Uncle Waffles was today revealed as one of the headliners for the 2024 - 263 Culture Festival set for 26 October, at Belgravia Sports Club, Harare. The event will be returning for its 2nd edition, after its launch last year with a list of high-profile Zimbabwean and South African talent that included: Jah Prayzah, DJ Tamuka, DJ King Her, Enzo Ishall, Emtee, Nadia Nakai, Moozlie, Lady Du, Blaq Diamond, Kamo Mphela, Sha Sha and Aymos.

The one-day music festival was launched to become one of the best music festivals in Southern Africa. Organized by 263Culture, a local company that seeks to promote music and culture in Zimbabwe, the festival has partnered up with SEAL, Wiremit, Mukuru, Pariah State and the Nyaradzo Group.


The 263 Culture Festival has one of its main goals celebrating the rich and diverse culture of Zimbabwe, and showcasing the country’s talent to the world. While only Uncle Waffles has been announced so far, this year's festival lineup is expected to be as diverse as the last.


The performance at 263 Culture Festival will be part of Uncle Waffles' Less Talk, More Piano Tour, which commenced on June 2, 2024, at We Love Green, Paris and is running until November 29, in Asia. The amapiano DJ who has been trailblazing across the world the last few yeses, last performed in Zimbabwe in 2020 at Fiesta Fiesta Zimbabwe.

Uncle Waffles rose to prominence after a video of her dancing to the song "Adiwele" by Young Stunna during her set went viral. She released her debut single "Tanzania" in March 2022 in anticipation of her debut extended play (EP), Red Dragon. 


In 2023 she released her sophomore project,  Asylum, which was followed by the EP Solace a few months later, in what she called a double-sided project titled, "An Asylum of Solace." In April 2023 she became the first amapiano artist to perform at Coachella. The DJ was nominated for Best International Act at the BET Awards that same year.


Tickets are still not yet on sale but last year the festival was priced at $25 for General Access and 150 for VIP.
