Kikky Badass collaborates with Gigi Lamayne for "Boss Energy"

When Kikky Badass finds a pocket on a beat, they're few rappers who can glide on a track as good as her, and the past year or so has been a showcase of that. On the back of an impressive feature run, the rapper has recently channelled her energy to international collaborations.

"Boss Energy" sees Kikky Badass collaborating with SA based Gigi Lamayne, who happens to also have Zimbabwean. As the title implies, "Boss Energy" is a song that puts humility to the sidelines. It's an embracing of success and the ego that comes with it. Something encapsulated by the lyricism of the chorus.

I'm too fly, I don't play by the rules
Check the boss moves you can't fill my shoes
Boss xxxx energy that's what I ooze
They tryna box me, I guarantee they gonn' lose

Produced by Jonn The Producer, "Boss Energy" has an instrumental with high energy and a gritty sound. The perfect foundation for both rappers to lay their verses. While very much for the vibes, the song has the potential of being an earworm.

The track comes after Kikky's double sided release, "Capsule," which had the tracks "Pink" and "Blue," featuring a host of South African rap talent: Robot Boii, Horid The Messiah, Scumie, XXC Legacy, King KY, Mbali The Real, Owtoo, Dougi Draco and Landrose. On both collaborations, as with latest single, Kikky Badass didn't dim under the lights.
