Described by Rolling Stone UK as "a star who could well go on to become an indie hero for a new generation of music fans", Rachel Chinouriri is an artist on the rise.
The singer was recently named on Rolling Stone UK's "The Future of Music" list. A list of 25 names defining the future of music in the United Kingdom. Named alongside Chinouriri were the likes of Central Cee, Master Peace, Shygirl and Chy Cartier among others. So to put it simply she couldn't have asked for a better build-up to her debut album.

Adorned with tracks that go as far back as her breakout moment, the album has a bittersweet sentiment, yet as you listen through it you begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel. "What a Devastating Turn of Events" is Indie Pop escapism, and it is the payoff of years of Rachel Chinouriri's defiance. Once labelled RnB, the artist had to fight to claim her place in the Indie Pop and Alternative world.
Released on the 3rd of May, "What a Devastating Turn of Events" rose to 41 on the UK Apple Music charts and 68 in Zimbabwe. It has since gone to chart in multiple countries, with a top 10 position in Ireland.

An English singer with Zimbabwean heritage, she broke onto the scene in 2018 after posting numerous songs on SoundCloud, Chinouriri released her debut extended play (EP), Mama's Boy, in 2019 to critical acclaim.
One of the songs from the EP, "So My Darling", received attention on TikTok when it became a popular audio to use. Chinouriri is signed to Parlophone, with whom she released her debut mini-album, Four In Winter, in 2021. This was followed up with the release of her second EP, Better Off Without, in 2022.
