Disney-owned streaming platform Hulu recently unveiled its latest must-watch series, "Black Cake," a captivating eight-episode family drama that explores the complexities of marriage, migration, and motherhood. Starring Zimbabwean actress Chipo Tariro Chung in the lead role, the show is based on Caribbean-American journalist, writer, and author Charmaine Wilkerson's 2022 New York Times-bestselling acclaimed novel of the same name.

The TV show, filmed in various locations, including Jamaica, England, Italy, and the United States, was created by Marissa Jo Cerar and produced by Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Films, along with Aaron Kaplans' Kapital Entertainment, "Black Cake" promises an emotional rollercoaster as it explores the life of Eleanor Bennett, portrayed by the talented Chipo Chung.
Eleanor passes away in California decades after leaving her native country, leaving behind one last cake for her kids. Along with the present comes a set of audio recordings that cast doubt on what Benny (Adrienne Warren), her daughter, and Byron (Ashley Thomas), her son, thought they knew about their mother.
The series, directed by Natalia Leite, boasts a stellar cast, including Mia Isaac as Covey, alongside Adrienne Warren, Chipo Chung, Ashley Thomas, Lashay Anderson, Faith Alabi, Glynn Turman, Ahmed Eljah, Simon Wan, and Sonita Henry.
