Floyd Mayweather Jr's in Zimbabwe: Here is everything you need to know
Floyd Mayweather is scheduled to arrive in Harare, Zimbabwe on the 13th of July 2023 and depart on the 14th as part of the retired undefeated boxing champion's Motherland Tour leg. Floyd Mayweather will make another stop in Johannesburg, South Africa on the 15 and 16th of 2023. Pedzisai "Scott" Sakupwanya's Betterbrands is sponsoring the visit and the Zimbabwe National Wrestling and Boxing Control Board are the technical partners.

During a two-day stay in Harare, Zimbabwe, Floyd Mayweather is billed to host a free-of-charge open workout at Number One Ground, Mabvuku Stadium on the 13th of July, showcasing his workout routine and interacting with Zimbabweans followed by a red carpet event and dinner at Miekles Hotel where tables were going for as much as US$3 000. Mayweather expected to share his journey in boxing and business through a live interview.
Boxing-related festivities are also part of the program, as the national super-featherweight title match between Aliyah Phiri and Ndodana Ncube is scheduled to take place on Thursday. After-party events will be hosted at Club Karma (Thursday) and Pabloz VIP (Friday) with DJ Rimo, IKE (Most Wanted), Tango Supreme, DJ Jay Bling TMT, Cskillz and Klique. Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr's visit to Harare, Zimbabwe follows the official announcement made last year when the now retired undefeated American boxer met businessman and Zanu-PF Politician Pedzisayi "Scott" Sakupwanya - whom he refers to as a close friend, last year in Dubai, UAE. “Here with one of my close friends from Africa, Zimbabwe, I’m on my way. We are working on the motherland tour. I gotta go back to Africa, I gotta go back to the motherland but I can’t do it without my man Scott.” said Floyd Mayweather in a video clip.
The visit to Harare is expected to boost brand Harare and put Zimbabwe in the spotlight. Mayweather confirmed the visit to Harare and South Africa by posting an image promoting the trip with a caption that reads "Zimbabwe & Johannesburg Me and The Money Team will be there next month July 13th-17th. I’m looking forward to being back in The Motherland!!"
