The modern musical theatre comedy, Heartbreak Mafia is set to return to Reps Theatre for a special limited run this week.
One night in an "artisanal" bar and one day in a quirky courtroom. The Heatbreak Mafia is a music revue centred on the theme of love. We find our characters chasing down love, running from love, falling in and out of love, making (non)sense of love and justifying their actions in the name of love. Told through songs about love, new and old!
The show features a talented with some established names (in alphabetical order):
Act Muronzi
Anesu Lioga
AneUnhu Gwatidzo
Bobby Morgan
Chiwoneso Mvududu
Dalma Diamond
Elvis Chikiwa
Min'enhle Mguni
Shaun Mundawarara
Heartbreak Mafia initially opened in early November last year, had a run until the end of December and the director had given a vote of thanks on socials signifying its end. However, it seems awards season might've given a new, although temporary, lease on life. Heartbreak Mafia was nominated in three categories at the recently hosted NAMA Awards.
It had nominations for Outstanding Theatre Production, Outstanding Theatre Actress and Outstanding Theatre Director, with only Min'enhle Mguni as Renee Stokes coming out on top in the Outstanding Theatre Actress category.
The production will come back for 4 shows this coming week. They'll be a 7 pm show on the 16th, 17th and 18th of March, with the 18th having another show at 2:30 pm. All being at Reps Theatre Upstairs.
Tickets are going to be selling for $15 in advance and $20 at the door. For booking, you can Call/WhatsApp +263779604873 or visit www.spotlight.co.zw
