Unplugged Zimbabwe has announced 4 dates for 2022 for their premier event, the Unplugged Festival. The event, returning for the first time in 2 years will take place on the following Saturdays; 2 July, 27 August, 29 October and 17 December.
Launched in the December of 2013 Unplugged is the brainchild of Chiedza Danha and Ellinah Chipumha under the arts organisation Unplugged Zimbabwe. In 2019 the organisers announced a change to what had become the premier monthly music event, it went from monthly to four dates a year. However the event had been halted in 2020 and event organisers only announced it's return last month.
Prior to switching format from a monthly event to a quarterly one, Unplugged Zimbabwe had hosted exactly 50 events, 128 unique acts and 22 DJs on its Zimbabwe stage according to Harare Magazine.
