Jah Prayzah has released his first song of the year 2022, "Furuwa". The single is a remake of the classic love song "Furuwa Furuwa" by Tairos Tendaupenyu & the Rising Power band.
Jah Prayzah with the help of Rodney Beatz on the production work, adds a modern flair to one of Zimbabwe's greatest classics. It's not only the instrumental that's different but Jah Prayzah adds a fair bit to the lyricism of the song. The Uzumba artist even drops a rap performance on one of the verses, which truly sets the song apart even in his own discography. Yet even though modernized, Furuwa still speaks of love as passionately as the classic. The song was released with a video directed by Nic Roux.
The visuals attempt to capture the feel of the classic, with fashion, cars, and decor from around the period the original song came out. It's a brilliant visual work as we've come to expect from every director that works with Jah Prayzah and it adds to the beauty of the song.
