Originally meant to be a mini-series, Showtime's Your Honor met phenomenal success upon it's release. It was adapted from the Israeli TV series Kvodo and released in the 20/21 US winter. Besides the compelling storyline, amazing cinematography and brilliant acting, another reason to watch it is Zimbabwean actor Keith Machekanyanga.
Keith Machekanyanga stars as Little Mo, the right-hand man of the Desire gang leader in the Lower Ninth Ward and he features on 8 out of the 10 episodes of the show's first season.
The storyline: The son of a prominent New Orleans judge accidentally kills another teenager in a hit-and-run collision. The judge urges him to turn himself in to the police, but changes his mind when he learns that the victim was the son of a local mafia kingpin. The judge's attempts to dispose of the evidence have tragic consequences.
Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) stars as the New Orleans judge who is forced to confront his own deepest convictions when his son is involved in a hit and run that embroils an organized crime family. A storm of vengeance, lies and deceit threatens to engulf the entire city and the judge faces a series of increasingly impossible choices and discovers just how far an honest man will go to save his son's life.
The show has already earned 6 nominations for its first season, from the Golden Globes and Hollywood Critics Association to The Shanghai International TV Festival. Last month the show was also renewed for a second season.
Keith Machekanyanga is still in the early stages of his acting career but he already has impressive credits under his name. He has featured on the tv series like Timeless, Chicago PD, Dear White People and he starred in the movie Deadcon.
