Zimbabwean Golfer Scott Vincent Has Secured His First Win On The Japan Golf Tour At The $1 Million Sansan KBC Augusta

Scott Vincent or Mhondoro as he's popularly known in Zimbabwean golfing circles earned his first win of the Japan Golf Tour this past weekend at the Sansan KBC Augusta. The top rated golfer in Zimbabwe had been slow in getting up to speed after a lacklustre showing at the Olympics but he had a strong start in his second event since the world games.

Vincent shot a 69 on the first round and finally seized the solo lead after three rounds of the Sansan KBC Augusta at the Keya Golf Club in Fukuoka in Japan.

The Zimbabwean led the way with two others in the first round and then shared the lead with Tomoharu Otsuki halfway through the $1 million championship.

It was a tense finish as Scott won the event by just one shot. The win sees Vincent earning his biggest pay day as he takes home $200,000 from the $1 million championship. In talking about his performance Scott said:

I was relieved that I was able to get it back on the fairway, I am so happy that I have won here again with my wife on my bag. I am still surprised that I was able to win today.

Vincent has also jumped 76 places in the world golf rankings to number 170, which is the first time he's been ranked in the top 200 in over a year.
