Germany based Reeperbahn Festival International in conjunction with Music In Africa Foundation, is working on a four-day program event consisting of networking, panels, keynotes, insightful digital company visits to key African music companies and curated matchmaking sessions with top decision makers in the African music and creative industries.
The program which runs from 31 May to 3 June 2021 will also include a hybrid showcase concert with various artists including Kelvyn Colt (Rapper, Germany), TEMS (Singer, Nigeria), Yugen Blakrok (Rapper, South Africa) and Awakhiwe Sibanda, better known as Awa Khiwe, a 29 year old Hip-hop artist from Makokoba, Bulawayo, whose lyrical content explores topics such as violence against women and unwanted pregnancies.
She is part of the fierce all-female band(GRRRL) which performed at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Australia.
In 2016 Awa Khiwe moved to Germany where she was signed by Outhere records, she has also perfomed in Germany, Belgium, Poland, Switzerland, and Netherlands. She is currently working with Producer Ghanaian Stallion and Outhere Records.
