Tinashe Tafirenyika Gives Us Her Latest Poem "There Is No Such Thing As Love"

Do you ever question love and what it truly means? Then the words of award wining poet Tinashe Tafirenyika will deeply resonate with you. In her latest poem, "There is no such thing as love" she challenges our conception of what love is. She takes aim at all the ideas we put up on pedastals, from maternal instincts, to the vows of love forever and she says if God is love then we're trying to be God somehow. It's two minutes of rich story telling, a softly spoken emotional rollercoaster that raises philosophical conundrums.
The visual storytelling elevates the poetry to a hypnotic presentation and I was hooked on each and every word. The choreography is the work of Alex Mhlanga and it was directed by Billman Dube. Tinashe also credited Nkanyeziyethu Malunga for assisting with the costume design, while Nozibulo Moyo and Brian Moyo helped with some of the equipment and the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo assisted with the venue as it is where the video was shot.
