Three Zimbabweans have partnered on a recently released independent short film “MiddleMan” by London based Ceeander Entertainment. Tatenda Jamera was hired as director of cinematographyalongside music producers Simba Tagz and Tatenda Kamera who produced music scores for the film.
Shot in Abuja, Nigeria, “Middleman” is a short film that captures the untold story of a young and ambitious boy Mustapha and it seeks to address the issues of social insecurity and education in Nigeria. The film debuted January 30th on Nigeria’s premier online magazine BellaNaija.com to a warm reception due to its powerful social message and strong acting.
Jamera who flew into Abuja from London for the duration of filming, was responsible for day to day shooting, cinematography and editing of the film. For musical scoring of the film, Jamera, through his links with Brian Soko & Anashe Media Group brought on board fellow Zimbabweans Simba Tagz and Tatenda Kamera. Jamera shared “I am thrilled to have been a part of this production, along with Tagz and Kamera. Thank you to Cindy Maduenyi of Ceeander Entertainment and director Ronke Ogunmakin, we hope people love it.”
Music producers Tagz and Kamera commented, “It was an exciting project for us, we hope the film will be viewed around the world. It is always great when Zimbabwean talent is recognized across Africa, we hope to do more”.
