Road to Perfect Tehn: Tehn Diamond x Junior Brown x Take 5

Loosely translated,"we started off by picking up them girls that we love, then we bought our drinks, the ones that we love, we were Happy, Happy." Championed across the board on
Zimbabwean radio, "Happy" stormed ZiFM Stereo's chart at number 1 and still resides inside the Top 10 some weeks later, being the most requested track on the station.

The pair gave their first joint radio interview exclusively to Off The Wall, with presenters Dan and Lo. Benefiting from the live streaming element the station has, the duo had access to the station’s global community of listeners and as a result, both stars trended on twitter (Zimbabwe).

Zimbabwean MC - Tehn Diamond made the long-awaited, aptly titled party anthem - 'Happy', available to download via his website . Featuring fellow rapper - Junior Brown, it's the second single to be lifted from his forthcoming debut album - The Perfect Tehn.

Produced by Harare based beat-maker Take 5, this brilliant slice of feel good Hip-Hop, anchored in one of the most exciting scenes in the country sees the duo effortlessly drawing together their individual influences to create a certified club banger. With his signature slick flow, Tehn's narrative comes with injections of humour depicting Zimbabwean party culture whilst Brown raps in shona, "Tatanga tatora makhoso watolavha; Tatatenga ma drinks edu ayo atolavha.Toita Heppi Heppi.

This flurry of activity brought them to the attention of BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra's - DJ Edu, who declared the track as, "catchy" and "sure to mash up the dance". He then subsequently premiered the single on his DNA show http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01nfbvy.

Inside Zimbabwe, the track is also enjoying massive support from Star FM. It ranks highly on the playlist and this week, (Nov 2nd), the guys are in the studio with DJ Munya for his weekly 'Freestyle Friday' show. They will also feature on Power FM too. In addition to the massive radio support, both are confirmed to perform "Happy" for the first time ever on Zimbabwean TV on a show called Starbrite - the national talent contest, which airs on ZBC1 later this month.

This release marks Tehn and Brown as serious contenders in the Hip Hop arena and the reaction to their collaboration has been red hot. "A year or two ago, it felt like nobody wanted to believe in local Hip Hop, says Tehn Diamond, "but it's now looking like people are getting it."
“Our song has become THE summer record, and for Zim Hip Hop, that's crazy! The response and energy at shows is crazy. It's a blessing, says Junior Brown.
