When he was a kid running around on the streets of Mabelreign in Harare, Tererai Avalon Mahati, aka Terrie Gunz, decided he wanted to stick out from his friends who were wearing their Edgars and Sales House gear. So he started writing his name on plain T-shirts and sweat shirts to get attention- and it worked. Not only did he get attention,he also got an impetus to take his idea further. Today, he is king of a growing international clothing label (Harae Hustler, Kunta Kinte, I Am Africa and Top kosso) that is worn by hip and conscious young people,from the US,Malaysia, Australia, NewZealand, Canada,Botswana, Republic of Southern Africa to the UK.

The Mixtape (Kunta Kinte Mixtape Volume 4) Kunta kinte conscious clothing mixtape vol 1 was first released in 2003 mixed by UK DJ STORM to help market The Harare Hustler/Kunta Kinte clothing brand in Europe and USA. Then came Vol 2 & 3.The mixtapes got loads of good reviews on sites like africa's gateway/hiphop world/africanhiphop. It included a mix of artists from different continents and took 2 months to work on.Now we are working on vol 4 which will ft some zim artists like Bodybag Ray /Metaphysics /Carlprit / Jusa / RobyGee /Stunna / Boys Retonaz etc. this will also be mixed by Dj Mujay, hosted by Velvet loveJones, also ft Zimlegit / Pepp / Redrat[jamaica] / Lil Kim just to name a few
