Featured Artist: Comrade Fatso

Comrade Fatso is one of the most explosive and controversial acts in Southern Africa today. His art is called Toyi Toyi, radical street poetry that mixes Shona with English and electrifying guitars with mbira and pulsating hip hop. His is riotous new music that's an uprising against oppression.

2008 saw Comrade Fatso and his band Chabvondoka launch their much-acclaimed album, House of Hunger, praised internationally but banned in Zimbabwe because of its criticism of the regime. House of Hunger is now on sale through different record labels worldwide. Comrade Fatso and Chabvondoka have performed extensively, having been invited to perform at festivals and venues in USA, France, UK, Germany, Portugal, Holland, Barbados, Reunion and all over Southern Africa.

Continuing their upward spiral Comrade Fatso and Chabvondoka perfomed at one of Europe's biggest and most prestigious festivals, Exit Festival in July 2010.
