After a rigorous selection at the Boot Camp that kicked off with 24 models from 16 countries — only 12 made it through to the finals.
Zimbabwe will be pinning its hopes on Tholakele and Rozanna from Harare.Preparations are now at an advanced stage in the M-Net Face of Africa as top 12 models go into camp later this month ahead of the finals scheduled for February 6 in Lagos, Nigeria.
Other countries represented are Angola, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia.
The models are Benedicta is from Accra, Ghana, Blessing (21) from Lagos, Nigeria, 22-year-old Diana from Kenya, Mozambican Ernania (18), Esperanca from Angola, Tanzania’s Lilian (21), Lukundo (22) from Kabwe, Zambia, Marvis (20) from Delta State, Nigeria, Nardos (19) from Ethiopia and South African finalist 22-year-old Thembi. Last year’s winner Kate Menson is living her dream job. The 24-year-old has been starring in M-Net’s advertising campaign for the new season of Face of Africa and in addition, she recently completed a stay at the Big Brother house.
Other credits include appearances at Mozambique Fashion Week, New Delhi Fashion Week, Cape Town Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week, plus she’s appeared on the pages of Elle, Glamour and Cosmopolitan.
Now, as Kate continues her rise to the top of the fashion world, a new face is about to be transformed from aspiring model to fully-fledged modelling sensa-tion. (The Herald)
